By 2017, due to accumulated losses, Srei was looking to divest its interests in Sahaj e-Village, roads and mobile tower businesses.[4] In October 2021, Reserve Bank of India removed him from boards of Srei finance companies, citing governance concerns and delays in interest payments for board supersession.[1]
