Hikaru Kurosaki

Kurosaki became stunt man rather young: as a fan of actor, stunt man and founding member of JAC, Sonny Chiba, Kurosaki joined the group at the age of 16 working as suit actor,[1] wearing costumes of monsters and robots in series of the tokusatsu type. However, at the peak of his career he was awarded the role of Juspion in the eponymous series, in which he also worked as stunt man and performed his own action sequences, even though never having worn the armour or the main character on screen (that was a different stunt man, Noriaki Kaneda). The series was a relative success in Japan, which gave Kurosaki an opportunity to showcase his acting skills.

After the conclusion of Juspion, he performed in some children's films, such as Setouchi Shonen Yakyudan and Saigo no Rakuen. His other film and television credits include a live action adaptation of the manga Igano Kabamaru and the third and fourth seasons of Shadow Warriors.

In the beginning of the 1995s, due to disagreement with Chiba (according to Kurosaki, in interview for the Brazilian magazine Henshin in 2001), Kurosaki decided to retire from acting.[1] Ever since, he worked as scuba instructor and guide in Okinawa, where he lived with his wife Yuko Asuka, also former performer. Kurosaki and his wife established a scuba diving school in 1998 called Mother Earth.[2]

Kurosaki was married to former JAC actress and stunt woman Yuko Asuka (Yuko Kurosaki). They met in 1984 during Kurosaki's acting on the series Bioman, in which Yuko performed the antagonist Farrah, and they remained together till her death in 15 December 2011.[3] The couple had no children.
