Hila Klein

Hila Hacmon was born in Tel Aviv, Israel.[6] Her Israeli parents are of Sephardic Jewish (Libyan-Jewish and Turkish-Jewish) descent.[7] Her brother is artist Moses Hacmon.[8][9][10]

Klein and husband Ethan Klein began creating videos for YouTube under the banner of h3h3Productions in 2011.[11] The Kleins eventually expanded their content, creating the H3 Podcast channel, which hosts quad-weekly podcasts.[12]

In 2017, the video game Payday 2 released downloadable content adding Klein to the game as a playable character.[13][14] Klein also appears as a character in the mobile game H3 Ball.[15]

Klein created the streetwear clothing brand Teddy Fresh in 2017,[16][17] which had a clothing collaboration with the cartoon series SpongeBob SquarePants.[18] She is the CEO and principal designer on all the clothing.[19][20] The company has grown to over 30 employees.[6]

Klein is also an artist and painter.[21][22] She describes her own art as "fun, primitive, naive, colorful."[19] Her sketchbook art inspired many of her early teddy fresh designs.[6]

In 2017, Klein organized a charity Twitch stream featuring guests such as Justin Roiland and Alex Hirsch. They raised $100,000 for Hurricane Harvey relief.[15] In 2020, Klein donated $100,000 to viewers having financial hardships during the COVID-19 lockdown as part of their #HELP (Hila and Ethan's Lazy Philanthropy) campaign.[23]

She first met Ethan Klein in Israel, at the Holocaust Yad Vashem Museum during her Israeli military service in 2007; and the couple married in October 2012.[24][7] Their first son, Theodore, was born in June 2019[25] and they are expecting another boy.[26][27]

Klein currently lives in Bel Air, California, U.S.[28] She became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 2019.[29][30]
