Historical Monthly

Historical Monthly[4] (simplified Chinese: 历史月刊; traditional Chinese: 歷史月刊), also known as Lishi Yuekan,[5] was a Taipei-based[6] Chinese-language journal on humanities and history published by Historical Monthly Magazine Agency (历史月刊杂志社)[7] in Taiwan.[8]

Historical Monthly was formerly known as United Monthly (联合月刊),[9] which was founded by Wang Tiwu[10] on 1 August 1981.[11] The journal ceased publication in December 2009.

History

The first issue of Historical Monthly was published in Taipei on 1 February 1988.[12] The journal was one of the publications of the United Daily News Group (联合报系).[13]

Historical Monthly was dedicated to popularizing the knowledge of history in Taiwanese society. [14] The journal formally ceased publication in December 2009[15] after the last issue (No. 263) was released.
