Honchy Brid massacre
Honchy Brid massacre was a mass murder of 73 Ukrainians[1] in the village of Honchy Brid (Ukrainian: Гончий Брід), committed in January 1944 by a Polish detachment of the Home Army. The Poles looted the village, destroying up to 40 estates.[2]
Memory
In 2011, a memorial for the massacred was erected in the village. The erection of the monument was aided by the head of the Volyn Regional State Administration Borys Klimchuk whose grandfather was one of the victims.[3]
In 2018, president Petro Poroshenko visited the village to pray at the memorial for the victims.[4][5]
