Developments
In January 2020, the Trust opened their new mental health inpatient unit in Hull, Inspire. The building won two Design in Mental Health Awards in August 2021.[1]
The Trust is also the lead provider at Whitby Community Hospital, which is currently undergoing renovation, and is set to complete in Spring 2022.
It was the first Mental Health Trust to use Lorenzo patient record systems part of the now discredited NHS Connecting for Health.
Management
The Trust Board is made up of Chief Executive, Michele Moran, and five Executive Directors. This includes Medical Director, Dr John Byrne; Chief Operating Officer, Lynn Parkinson; Director of Nursing, Allied Health and Social Care Professionals, Hilary Gledhill; Executive Director of Finance, Peter Beckwith; and Director of Workforce & OD, Steve McGowan.[2]
The Trust appointed a new Chair of the Board in September 2021, with Caroline Flint succeeding Sharon Mays after two terms in post. [3]
In addition, the Trust has five Non-Executive Directors, who are not employed by the Trust but work alongside the Trust Board and Chair to deliver the Trust Strategy and help the Trust to develop.
Performance
The Trust is a multi-award-winning organisation, which most prominently won Mental Health Provider of the Year in 2019[4] at the Health Service Journal awards. This was great recognition of the progress made after a challenging period and demonstrated the Trust’s growth and improvement over time.
The CQC rating[5] for the Trust is currently Good.
It was ranked #4 out of 211 Trusts nationwide for accessibility online by Silktide[6] and was also named in the Top 5 Mental Health and Community Trusts[7] for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in 2021.
