IFET College of Engineering
IFET College of Engineering is an Autonomous college of Engineering, Technology and Management located in Gengarampalayam, Valavanur, Villupuram, Tamil Nadu, India known for its predominant ranking by the university and placements. It was established in 1998 by the Indo French Educational Trust. It is permanently affiliated to Anna University, Chennai and approved by All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi. It was accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and has courses accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA).

The college is situated on Puducherry-Villupuram Highway (National Highway 45A) in Gangarampalayam,[1] Villupuram, Tamil Nadu, h India.

Admission
Eligibility Criteria for B.E. and B.Tech Courses: The institution is affiliated to Anna university and hence the admission norms is as per Anna University.
- Candidates must have passed HSC (Academic/ Vocational) with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as main subjects.
- Candidates belonging to the general category must have passed HSC (Academic/ Vocational) with an aggregate of 50%.
- Candidate belonging to Backward Class including Backward Class Muslim candidates must have passed HSC (Academic/ Vocational) with an aggregate of 45%.
- Candidates belonging to MBC (Most Backward Classes) and DNC (Denotified Class) must have passed HSC (Academic/ Vocational) with an aggregate of 45%.
- Candidates belonging to SC/SCA/ST (Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Caste sub-category/ Scheduled Tribe) must have passed HSC (Academic/ Vocational) with an aggregate of 45%.
- Upper Age limit is 25 years.
- Candidates who have passed 10+2 Std or their equivalent from educational organisations located outside Tamil Nadu can also apply. They must include a duplicate copy of their Nativity Certificate only in the form of a soft copy/ digitally signed e-Certificate.
- Son or Daughters of Central Government Employees may also apply for admission, irrespective of their nativity, provided their mother and father or guardian (only if both parents are not alive) have been employed in Tamil Nadu consistently for the past 5 years, supported by attaching certificates from the company of the parents or guardian to that impact.
- Wards of All Indian Service Tamil Nadu cadre authorities are eligible to apply for the admissions.
- Wards of employees in the Public Sector or Government recognised Institution in Tamil Nadu working continuously for the past five years can also apply. They don't need to submit a domicile certificate for it. A certificate from the company has to be submitted along with the application stating that the individual is a permanent member of the company with proof like Income Tax Return, PF slips, etc. for the past five years.
B.Tech course (Lateral entry):
- A pass with prescribe minimum eligibility marks in any one the Diploma in appropriate branch of Engineering / Technology of the State Board of Technical Education and training, Tamil Nadu / equivalent prescribe for admission degree Course (Refer list of eligible Degree Courses for various Diploma Courses)
- Overall percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in the Diploma / B.Sc qualifying examination shall be considered for calculation of minimum eligibility marks (III Semester to VI Semester).
- Related Diploma Courses with following mark percentage General(OC) -50% BC&BCM-45% MBC&DNC-40% SC,SCA&ST-40
Alumni
Alumni are the brand ambassadors of IFET. The association supports the institution in creating a bridge to the industry, placements, offering lectures on recent trends in the industry and grooming the students at various levels.
Central Library
The library houses a rich collection of books, Indian and foreign journals, periodicals, newsletters and magazines on various branches of engineering and technology. Apart from the central library, each department has a separate departmental library with books on specialized topics. Digital Library is available for accessing the previous year university question papers, students' project reports and staff research publications in electronic form. The services of the students in the form of 'Earn While You Learn Scheme' are utilized for day-to-day maintenance activities.
Transport
The institution operates a fleet of 30 buses for the students and staff to commute from the towns of effective transport facility covering every nook and corner of Villupuram, Puducherry, Cuddalore, Neyveli, Tindivanam, Chidambaram, Vadalur, Thirukovilur and Ulundurpet.
