Institute of IT Training

The Learning & Performance Institute (LPI) is a global body for learning professionals. It was established in 1995 and since then has grown on an annual basis. In February 2010 the Institute completed a management buyout from membership and research organisation, the National Computing Centre and is now an entirely independent body.[1]

Today, the Institute has thousands of individual members from 61 countries.[2]

The LPI is also recognised as being a leading body for data and research in the field of corporate learning and development.

As well as this, the LPI is responsible for The Learning Awards and Learning Live.

Professional Standards

The LPI exists to continuously raise standards of professionalism within the workplace learning industry.[3]

Membership

The LPI provides various levels of individual membership for learning professionals. The level of membership afforded to an individual is dependent on their level of experience, skills and qualifications gained in the Learning and Development industry.

LPI membership carries postal-nominal letters which vary depending on the level of membership.

Accreditation

Organisations and Learning Providers receive accreditation to demonstrate that they meet the Institute’s standards in the implementation and delivery of learning. As part of accreditation the Institute works with accredited companies to monitor their performance.
