Isanlu

Isanlu is the headquarters of Yagba East[1]local government area of Kogi State in the Southwestern part of Nigeria. It is one of the oldest towns in Kogi State. Isanlu is located at latitude 8.1584° N and longitude 5.6760° E. Its boundary to the west is Odo-Eri, to the east by Takete- Isao, to the north by Effo Amuro and to the south by Irunda-Ile and Ilafin. Isanlu has four communities: Isanlu-Mopo, Isanlu-Itedo, Isanlu-Ijowa, and Isanlu-Makutu.[2] The current Agbana of Isanlu is HRH Oba Moses Babatunde Etombi

Culture

The culture of Isanlu is typical of Yoruba cultures, being steeped in Yoruba art and Yoruba music. Some cultural activities and festivals are associated with ancient tribal gods and rites, but since the spread of Christianity, many are no longer performed.

Economy

Isanlu is blessed with fertile land for agriculture activities. The crops grown in this area include yam, corn, sorghum, cocoa, beans, cassava, (groundnuts), and cotton. like most of the Yoruba regions. Notable industries in Isanlu include bread factories, bottled water companies, and sawmills.
