JJ Alfieri
James (J.J.) Alfieri (born July 4, 1978) is an American restaurateur and nightclub operator. He is also an actor, director, and producer.[1] He is best known for a featured role in the True Adventures of Wolfboy, supporting role in Clover and a lead role and producer credit in the Givers of Death.[2][3]
Career
Alfieri is a restaurant and nightclub operator. In 2006 he ran the family-owned Crocodile Bar in Buffalo Chippewa District.[4] Later, he owned and operated the Duke's Bohemian Grove Bar in Buffalo's Allentown district. And, along with partner Paul Tsouflidis ran the Expo Markets in Buffalo and opened the first franchise of the local Bocce Club Pizza in the Expo Market on Hertel in Buffalo.[5][6]
In 2005 he started his own production company 3C Multimedia, where he produced a pilot called Discs with Norman Toy a writer on the MacGyver TV show.[7]
Alfieri first appeared on screen in 2006 in a movie Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead directed by Lloyd Kaufman and released by Troma Entertainment.[8]
Alfieri entered in the movie business in 2016, when friend and collaborator Addison Henderson came to Duke's Bohemian Grove Bar along with Chadwick Boseman as part of the Marshall film production in Buffalo.[9]
In 2017, Czech director Martin Krejci met Alfieri when Krejci began frequenting JJ's nightclub, Duke's Bohemian Grove Bar while The True Adventures of Wolfboy crew was finishing up preproduction in Buffalo. Krejci offered Alfieri the opportunity to audition for a small part in Wolfboy.[1] Later, Alfieri was cast as Gus, in Clover directed by Jon Abrahams starring Ron Perlman and Chazz Palminteri.[10] Alfieri played a leading role in the film Givers of Death aka G.O.D. an award-winning indie Sci-Fi thriller set in Buffalo during a pandemic in the future.[11] Alfieri and Henderson collaborated on two projects in preproduction: a film, Haunted by Dr. King, based on the MLK assassination conspiracy civil trial and a television series biopic, My Brother's Keeper, about the King of Punk Funk, Buffalo's own Rick James.[12]
Personal life
Alfieri lives in Buffalo, NY. He was once married to Gabrielle Mattina but was divorced after a short period of time.[13] Alfieri's father is the owner of the 31 Club in Buffalo, a high end Supper Club.[14]
