Jaime Siaj

Jaime Siaj Romero (born 16 December 1995) is a Spanish-born Jordanian footballer who plays as a forward for Messina in the Serie D. Besides Spain, he has played in the United States,[1] Italy and Kuwait.

Career

Youth and college

Siaj played three years of college soccer at Pfeiffer University between 2014 and 2016. He made a total of 69 appearances, scoring 47 goals and tallying 28 assists in his time at Pfeiffer.[2]

While at college, Siaj also appeared for Premier Development League side Charlotte Eagles in 2016.[3]

Professional

Charlotte Independence

On 17 January 2017, Siaj was selected in the third round (45th overall) in the 2017 MLS SuperDraft by Colorado Rapids.[4][5] On 12 April 2017, Siaj signed with Colorado's United Soccer League affiliate club Charlotte Independence.[6]

Oklahoma City Energy

On 6 February 2018, Siaj signed with OKC Energy FC for the 2018 season.[7]

Tampa Bay Rowdies

Siaj joined the Tampa Bay Rowdies on 4 February 2019. He had previously been on trial with the Rowdies during the 2017 Florida Cup.[8]

Inter de Madrid

In January 2020, Siaj moved to Spanish Segunda División B side Inter de Madrid.[9]

Khaitan SC

Siaj move to Kuwait Premier League side Khaitan in August 2020.

In the only season he played with Khaitan, he managed to achieve the second top scorer in the Premier League, after Oday Dabbagh.

Messina

Siaj move to Serie D side Messina in August 2021.

International

On 11 May 2018, Siaj was called-up to the Jordan senior team for two of the country’s friendly matches, the first on 20 May against Cyprus and the second against China on 26 May. Siaj is eligible to represent the national team due to his father’s Jordanian heritage.[10]
