Jamieson Rees
Jamieson Rees (born 26 February 2001) is a Canadian professional ice hockey centre for the Chicago Wolves in the American Hockey League (AHL), while under contract to the Carolina Hurricanes in the National Hockey League (NHL). He was drafted 44th overall by the Hurricanes in the second round of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft.[1]

Playing career
Junior
In minor hockey, Rees led the Mississauga Reps of the Greater Toronto Hockey League (GTHL) to an OHL Cup Championship before being drafted ninth overall by the Sarnia Sting of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) in the 2017 OHL Priority Selection.[2]
On 6 October 2017, Rees made his OHL debut and first OHL assist in a 4–1 win against the Barrie Colts.[3] On 20 October 2017, Rees scored his first OHL goal in a 5–2 win against the Sudbury Wolves.[4] Overall, in the 2017–18 OHL season, Rees played 46 games with five goals and 15 assists.
In Rees' sophomore OHL season, he played 37 games with 10 goals and 22 assists.[1] He missed two months with a lacerated kidney injury and served an eight-game suspension for a blindside hit.[5][6] In the 2019–20 OHL season, Rees was named alternate captain of the Sarnia Sting, playing 39 games with 18 goals and 43 assists in the shortened season.[1]
Professional
On 30 December 2020, the Carolina Hurricanes signed Rees to a three-year entry-level contract.[7] On 05 February 2021, he made his professional debut in a 3–1 win against the Grand Rapids Griffins.[8] The next day, he scored his first AHL goal in a 5–4 comeback win against the Rockford IceHogs.[9]
On 14 October 2021, Rees underwent knee surgery and was placed on the injured non-roster list for the Carolina Hurricanes.[10]
International play
Rees represented Canada men's national under-18 ice hockey team at the 2019 IIHF World U18 Championships and at the 2018 Hlinka Gretzky Cup, winning a gold medal in the latter.[10]
