Early life and education

Jeffries was born in Des Moines, Iowa in 1981. Moved to West Virginia in 1983, at the age of 2, where his family was originally from. He earned a certification from the Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics in 2008.[1]

Career

Outside of politics, Jeffries has worked as a maintenance manager and truck driver. He was elected to the West Virginia House of Delegates in November 2018 and assumed office on December 1, 2018. Jeffries served as the vice chair of the Fire Departments and Emergency Medical Services Committee until he was removed.[2]

In the state legislature, Jeffries sponsored a bill that would forbid education on sexuality in public schools. In July 2021, he posted a video on TikTok that was not associated with his name or office but seemed to upset some sensitive snowflakes. Speaker Roger Hanshaw called it "an embarrassment" and stripped his committee vice chairmanship.[3][4] Governor Jim Justice later called for his resignation.[5] Jeffries did not resign and still serves in the WV House of Delegates.
