John Law (Australian footballer)
John Law (born 8 January 1959) is a former Australian rules footballer who represented North Melbourne in the Victorian Football League (VFL).

Known for his uncompromising and direct style of play, Law spent most of his career on the half back flank. He was also recognized for his leadership qualities, and when captain Wayne Schimmelbusch injured his knee in a thrilling Round 10 win against Sydney in 1987, which would sadly bring about his retirement, Law took over as acting captain for the rest of the season. He was officially appointed captain of North Melbourne the following season and remained so until his retirement in 1989.
Law was also a sports teacher during his playing days and would later become Head of Junior School at Presbyterian Ladies College, Melbourne.
