John Morehead Scott
John Morehead Scott (1839 - June 18, 1862) was a participant in the Andrew's Raid and recipient of the Medal of Honor.

Biography
Scott was born in Stark County, Ohio in 1839. During the Civil War he served in the Union Army as a sergeant in the 21st Ohio Infantry Regiment.[1] Scott volunteered to partake in the Andrew's Raid of April, 1862. Following the Raid, Scott was hung along with 7 others in Atlanta, Georgia.[2] He was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor on August 4, 1866.[1] Like the rest of the executed men he was buried in Atlanta and later reburied in Chattanooga National Cemetery.[1][2]
Medal of Honor Citation
One of the 19 of 22 men (including 2 civilians) who, by direction of General Mitchell (or Buell), penetrated nearly 200 miles south into enemy territory and captured a railroad train at Big Shanty, Georgia, and attempted to destroy the bridges and track between Chattanooga and Atlanta.[3]
