Joplin (software)

Joplin is a free and open-source desktop and mobile note-taking application written for Unix-like (including Mac OS X and Linux) and Microsoft Windows operating systems, as well as iOS, Android, and Linux/Windows terminals,[1] written in JavaScript using Electron. Joplin's workflow and featureset is most often compared to Evernote.[2][3][4][5][6]

History

Joplin is named for the ragtime composer and pianist, Scott Joplin.[7]

The first public desktop application release was version 0.10.19, on November 20, 2017.[8][9][10]

A Web Clipper[11] for Chrome was introduced in December 2017 and the Firefox extension was released in May 2018.
