History
KVIP was founded in 1970 by a group of local Christians who saw the need for a Christian radio station in the area. That year, AM 540 hit the air and FM 98.1 signed on for the first time in 1975. Today, KVIP services over 150 distinct communities. With the addition of online streaming in the early 2000s, their potential audience is even larger with listeners calling in from Hawaii, American Samoa, and Spain.
