Kagiso Kuypers
Kagiso Kuypers (born 29 October 1992), is a South African actor, dancer, and radio personality.[1] He is best known for the roles in the films Blood Diamond and Elalini.[2][3]

Personal life
Kuypers was born on 29 October 1992 in Bekkersdal, a small township on western Johannesburg, South Africa.[4] He completed a course in performing arts at the National School of Arts in Johannesburg in 2009.[5] After school life, he studied Audio Visual Communication at the University of Johannesburg and graduated in 2013 with a BCom in Economics and Accounting.[5]
Career
In 2005 at the age of 13, he made his film debut in the video short Elaini, where he played the lead role of an AFDA student "Chungwa". The film later became the first South African student film to win the honorary foreign film category award at the Student Academy Awards. During school life, he made notable theatre roles in the plays Sarafina (2007), West Side Story (2006), Little Shop of Horrors (2005) and Dance Spectrum (2007).[4]
After the success of the film, he got the opportunity to act in the Hollywood blockbuster film Blood Diamond directed by Edward Zwick. In the film he played the supportive role as "Dia Vandy" together with renowned artists Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Connelly, and Djimon Hounsou. After that, Kuypers played another lead role as "Sipho" on the short film Tobetsa Tobetsa. In the meantime, he acted in many television serials including: Jozi H, Wild At Heart, After 9 and YO.TV.[4][5]
As a performer, he made a monologue called Asinamali produced by Mbongeni Ngema. For this monologue, he became the Best Overall Dramatic Performer. In 2009, he became the Best Dancer in "Dance Spectrum" and received colors for dramatic arts. After graduating fro AFDA, he became a radio host through the university radio station called "UJFM 95.4" and hosted the show Raw to the core for 3 consecutive years.[4]
Apart from drama and radio hosting, he joined with Standard Bank Group of South Africa and worked as a marketing and communications specialist.[4]
