Kim Sung-cheol

Kim Sung-cheol (Korean: 김성철; born 31 December 1991) is a South Korean actor under Story J Company. He is best known for playing Kim Young-cheol in the drama Prison Playbook.[2]

Career

Kim made his debut in the musical Puberty in 2014. After his debut, he starred in musicals and theaters, such as My Bucket List, Werther, Big Fish, and Romeo and Juliet, making Kim known in the world of stage plays.

In 2017, Kim debuted in the television drama Prison Playbook.[2] Later, Kim joined the film Anarchist from Colony.

In 2018, Kim starred in the KBS music drama about to. Jenny, with Jung Chae-yeon and Lee Sang-yi.[3] Kim also joined in the film Too Hot to Die.[4] In October 2018, Kim joined the drama OCN Player.[5]

In 2019, Kim acted in the JTBC drama The Wind Blows as well as the tvN series Arthdal Chronicles.[6] He also starred in the film The Battle of Jangsari, for which he won a best new actor award in the 27th Korean Culture and Entertainment Awards. The same year, Kim starred in the film Kim Ji-young: Born 1982.[7]

In 2020, Kim appeared in the SBS drama about Do You Like Brahms?,[8] earning him a nomination for a new actor award in the 28th SBS Drama Awards.[9] The same year, Kim appeared in the Netflix drama Sweet Home.[10]

In 2021, Kim made special appearances in Vincenzo[11] and Racket Boys.[12] In addition, Kim was cast as an MC in Channel A's DIMF Musical Star.[13] Later in July, Kim was confirmed to star in the SBS drama Our Beloved Summer which will air in the second half of 2021.[14] In August 2021, Kim was confirmed to join the historical film The Owl, where the filming began in September 2021.[15]
