Plot
Thorn (Matthew Gray Gubler), the leader of a coven of witches, must confront his own past including his looming high school reunion and his estranged mother (Barbara Crampton). As Thorn rediscovers who he is, his coven must discover who they are without Thorn.
Release
The film was shot in 2019[2] and made its premiere on August 8, 2021, at the Fantasia Film Festival.[3]
Reception
The review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes surveyed 26 critics and, categorizing the reviews as positive or negative, assessed 22 as positive and four as negative for a 85% rating with it's consensus reading: "King Knight's humor doesn't always land, but viewers who can pick up the movie's sweetly strange wavelength will be glad they tuned in".[4] Chad Collins of Dread Central gave the film 4/5 and called it "uncommonly endearing."[5]
Rosie Knight of Nerdist gave the film 2.5/5 and said the film "never fully finds itself."[6]
