Kingsley Abasili

Kingsley Nkemjika Abasili (born 30th June, 1984) is a Nigerian actor. He is popularly known as Kingsley Abasili. He is also known as Pete Edochie's lookalike because of his striking resemblance with veteran actor Pete Edochie.[1] Both actors are from Anambra State but not related.[2]

Biography

Abasili is a Nigerian actor who has featured in several Nollywood movies. kingsley is from Igbo-Ukwu, a town in Aguata local government area of Anambra State in the Southeastern region of Nigeria.[3] He was born in Makurdi, Benue State, Nigeria.[3] Kingsley Abasili celebrates his birthday on every June 30th, of each year.[4]

Education

Abasili is a Nigerian actor who has featured in several Nollywood movies. He has a Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration, from Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki.[3] On March 25th, 2017 he convocated alongside other post graduate students in the department of Political and Adminstrative Studies- International Relations, (Master's Degree), faculty of Social Sciences, University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State. [5]

Career

In 2019, Abasili attracted media attention for his resemblance with the veteran actor Pete Edochie. Abasili looks like the younger version of pete Edochie and is tagged the doppelganger of the actor.[2] Subsequently, Abasili joined the Nigeria Film Industry in the same year and has featured alongside Nollywood actors such as Gentle Jack, Emmanuel Ehumadu known as Labistar, amongst others.[1] In 2019, he featured in Try Me as School Principal in Mark Angel's Short comedy skit along side Dominion Uche and others.[6]

Recognition

He was invited to Akaraka event as a guest and was honored with a recognition award by Anambra Through a Lens, in 2020 alongside other recipients; Chief Press Secretary to Anambra state Governor, Sir James Eze and others.[12] Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Digital economy, Hon. Afam Mbanefo presented the award to the recipients. [4][13][14]
