Kosmos 315

Kosmos-315 is one of over 2400 Soviet artificial satellites launched under the Kosmos program.[1]

Kosmos-315 was launched from the Plesetsk cosmodrome, USSR, on December 20, 1969. The R-14 Chusovaya launch vehicle (Russian: Чусовая) (8K65, NATO designation SS-5 Skean) with an added stage placed the satellite in orbit around the planet Earth. The mass of the satellite at launch was 325 kilograms. Kosmos-315 was a satellite intended for electronic reconnaissance, reporting and guidance.[2]
