Lavéra Refinery
The Lavéra Refinery is an INEOS Group-owned oil refinery in south-east France, situated amongst two other oil refineries, built by BP. France currently has seven oil refineries; Lavéra is the fourth-largest.

History
BP had a smaller previous plant at Courchelettes in northern France from 1924 to 1932, run by SGHP, which had been formed in 1921.[1]
It was built by Société générale des huiles de pétrole, a subsidiary of the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company (BP from 1954). In 1950, BP France S.A. made a film about the site.[2]
On 4 June 1994, an explosion killed two workers.[3]
It was bought by INEOS in 2006.
Structure
It is in the region of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, in south-east France. The site is around 650 hectares. It is close to the A55 autoroute.
A BP Chemicals subsidiary, Naphtachimie, opened a chemical plant nextdoor (now part-owned by INEOS, formerly owned by BP Chemicals and Elf Atochem). It is part of INEOS Olefins and Polymers Europe.
