Lavanya Tripathi

Lavanya Tripathi (born 15 December 1990) is an Indian actress, model and dancer who predominantly works in Telugu films. She won Miss Uttarakhand title in 2006 and started working as a model. She started her career with television show Pyaar Ka Bandhan. Tripathi made her film debut with Andala Rakshasi (2012). She then went onto star in several successful Telugu films.

Early life

Lavanya Tripathi was born 15 December 1990 in brahmin family of Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh,[1] and grew up in Dehradun, Uttarakhand.[2] Her father is a lawyer practicing in high court and civil court and her mother is a retired teacher. She has two elder siblings, one brother and sister.[3] After completing her schooling from Marshall School, Dehradun, she moved to Mumbai, where she graduated in Economics from Rishi Dayaram National College.[3][4]

She stated that she "always wanted to be in showbiz" but her father wanted her to complete her education first. She then started modelling, appearing in commercials, while also being part of television shows.[2] She won the title of Miss Uttarakhand in 2006 when still in school.[5]

She is a Trained Classical Dancer in Bharatnatyam which she displayed glimpses in the film Bale Bale Magadivoy.[6]

Advertisements

Lavanya Tripathi acted in an advertisement along with the Traffic Police Department of Telangana for which she did not take any remuneration.[7] She has appeared in the ads of some famous brands including Fair & Lovely (cosmetics) and Binani Cement.[8]

Career

Debut and Early Career(2012-2014)

She made her feature film debut with the 2012 Telugu film Andala Rakshasi,[9] after a friend suggested her to attend the audition for the role.[2] She earned critical acclaim for her performance as Midhuna and won the Best Debutante Award from Maa TV.[2] The following year she starred in Doosukeltha which also proved to be successful.[2] In 2014, she made her debut in Tamil cinema with Brahman in which she played an aspiring journalist, Gayathri.[2] She quickly landed her next Tamil film role, in Naanum Rowdydhaan,[2] but was removed from the film when a new production studio took over the project. She then starred in a few other films.

Later Career(2015-2017)

Her next Telugu project was Bhale Bhale Magadivoy with Nani.[10] . Then she appeared in Srirastu Subhamastu, which was hit at box office and the successful film Soggade Chinni Nayana opposite Nagarjun.

Further Success(2017-Present)

In the year 2017 she had 5 releases along with the hit film Vunnadhi Okate Zindagi with Ram Pothineni. She then starred in Inttelligent with Sai Dharam Tej, Antariksham 9000 KMPH with Varun Tej. In 2021 she had two films A1 Express and Chaavu Kaburu Challaga and established herself as a leading actress in Telugu cinema.
