Lerato Kganyago

Lerato Kganyago (born 22 July 1982), also known as Lerato K, is a South African actress, model and media personality.[1] She is best known for the roles in the films . Apart from that, she is also a MC, entrepreneur, model, and a DJ. She is often known as the "Queen of Clap Backs" on Twitter.[2][3][4]

Personal life

Kganyago was born on 22 July 1982 in Soweto, South Africa. She first attended to Ipolokeng Primary School and then attended to Boksburg High School to complete her secondary education. After completing high school, she studied Public Relations and Travel and Tourism from Damelin College. After that, she worked as a flight attendant for Qatar Airways.[2]

Since 2009, she dated to the Bafana Bafana player, Katlego Mashego. They later engaged in 2013. However, the relationship was broke up citing suspect Katlego of cheating. She is married to Thami Ndlela since 2020. After that, she faced 4 miscarriages after she go pregnant.[5][6] In mid 2021, she breaks up with Ndlela and later Lerato married an affluent businessman at her mother's home in Boksburg on Saturday.[2]

Career

She started her career in modeling. In 2002, she crowned as the Miss Jam Alley. Then in 2005, she won the Miss Soweto Pageant as well.[7] After a stint at Qatar Airways, she joined to Soweto TV as a television host, and presented her own talk show called The LKG Show. During this period, she was also selected as the face of SABC1 lifestyle entertainment show, The Link.[7] In 2015, she returned to host the radio program "DJ Sbu" on Metro FM after causing a conflict with another host.[8][9] After that, she hosted many television programs such as; LIVE AMP, and The Link.[2] In 2015, she was named as a host of the SAMAs pre-show.[10] [11] In July 2015, she made entrance on Ebony Life TV, where she was named as the South African host along with Pearl Thusi for the program "Moments".[12]

Her maiden acting came through the show The Phat Joe, where she performed comedic skits. After that, she made appearances in the serials; Muvhango (2015),[13] Play: Sex Tips for Girls, and The Wild. She later joined with radio and hosted the radio programs at Jozi FM. After that, she was invited to popular radio broadcasting corporation "Metro FM".[2] In that FM, she co-hosted a show with Bonang Matheba, which later became controversy and eventually Matheba resigned from the radio station.[14] However, in 2017, they rejoined and co-hosted the show Front Row at Metro FM.[15] But Matheba departed again from the station hours later.[16]

She currently owns event management company called "Black Angel".[2]
