Levi Duchman

Levi Duchman is an American-born Chabad Rabbi who was the first resident rabbi of the United Arab Emirates. He currently serves as the head of the Jewish Community Center of UAE.

United Arab Emirates

After arguments between Duchman and other Emirati Jewish leaders, Duchman founded the Jewish Community Center of UAE. The Community Center serves a rival shul towards that of other Emirati Rabbis such as Yehuda Sarna.[1]

He assisted the Staff of Mohamed Bin Zayed with establishing Kosher Meals for a meeting between the Prince and Yair Lapid.[2]


He is a leading member of the Alliance of Rabbis in Islamic States.

Personal life

Duchman is fluent in 5 languages, including Arabic and French.[3]

He is also the vice-president of the Alliance of Rabbis in Islamic States (ARIS). He has visited many other countries in Arabia, including Kuwait, Bahrain, and Oman.[3] He was responsible for fixing the Mezuzah on the Israeli-UAE Embassy in Abu Dhabi.[4]

His brother Mendel is a Schochet in Al-Ain.[2]
