Singh is married to Suharsha Bhagat, a resident of Samastipur district of Bihar who bagged All India Rank 5 in Civil Services Examination. Her husband is currently the District Magistrate of Banka.[5]
In October 2020, Singh again came in headlines when one person, a teenager, Anurag Poddar was killed and over 25 injured in police firing in Bihar’s Munger city after violent clashes erupted between the police and a group of people over delay in the immersion ceremony of a Durga idol. The procession was peaceful despite Singh’s claim.[6] The Election Commission removed Singh from her office following the incident while Poddar’s family still waits for justice.[7] She has been moved to the state police headquarters by the Home Department, Government of Bihar.[8]
In January 2021, Singh was appointed as the SP of Saharsa district replacing Rakesh Kumar.[9][10]
