List of African-American neighborhoods

This is a list of African-American neighborhoods. The list contains the names of cities, districts, and neighborhoods in the U.S. that are predominantly African American or that are strongly associated with African-American culture²— either currently or historically. Included are areas that contain high concentrations of blacks or African Americans. Not counted are Afro-Caribbeans, Afro-Latinos, and Sub-Saharan African immigrants.

This is a dynamic list and may never be able to satisfy particular standards for completeness. You can help by adding missing items with reliable sources.

The largest African-American community is in Detroit, Michigan.[1] About 80 percent of the city population is African-American.

A quarter of Metro Detroit (Macomb, Oakland and Wayne counties) are African-American.
