List of sports clubs named after a sponsor
This is a list of sports clubs that are named after a sponsor. Sports teams sometimes sell their names to increase revenue for themselves although this is often frowned upon by some sports organisations such as UEFA who ban sponsors names to be used when addressing a team. By contrast, in some countries and organisations, naming after a sponsor or corporate parent is standard practice; for instance, all teams in Nippon Professional Baseball are in whole or in part named after their corporate owners.
If the original name box is blank that means the team from being formed has always had a sponsor name such as a factory works team.
