List of storms named Ambo
The name Ambo has been used in the Philippines by PAGASA in the Western Pacific.
- Tropical Depression Ambo (2004) (01W, Ambo) – a tropical depression that was only recognized by PAGASA and JTWC.
- Typhoon Neoguri (2008) (T0801, 02W, Ambo)
- Typhoon Mawar (2012) (T1203, 04W, Ambo)
- Tropical Depression Ambo (2016) (Ambo) – a tropical depression that was only recognized by PAGASA.
- Typhoon Vongfong (2020) (T2001, 01W, Ambo) – a disastrous Category 3 storm that hit the Philippines during the COVID-19 pandemic, causing over ₱1 billion damage causing its name to be retired.
After its use in the 2020 season, PAGASA announced that the name Ambo would be stricken from their naming lists after it caused a total ₱1.57 billion of economic losses after its onslaught in the Philippines with Aghon being its replacement name starting in 2024.[1][2]
