Los renglones torcidos de Dios (transl. 'God's Crooked Lines') is an upcoming Spanish psychological thriller film directed by Oriol Paulo which stars Bárbara Lennie. It is an adaptation of the 1979 novel of the same name by Torcuato Luca de Tena.

Plot

The fiction follows a woman (Alice Gould) who is interned in a psychiatric hospital, whereas she believes to be a privately-hired investigator doing some digging about a murder case.[1]

An adaptation of the 1979 bestseller by Torcuato Luca de Tena,[n. 1] Los renglones torcidos de Dios was written by the director Oriol Paulo alongside Guillem Clua.[2][3] Bernat Bosch took over cinematography duties whereas Fernando Velázquez worked as composer.[1] The film was produced by Nostromo Pictures, Atresmedia Cine and Filmayer.[2]

Filming started in May 2021,[4] and it wrapped 9 weeks after.[1]

Shooting took place in several locations of the provinces of Tarragona and Barcelona.[2] The old Tabacalera building in Tarragona was used to portray the psychiatric hospital.[5]

Distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures España, it is tentatively expected to be released in 2022.[2][4]
