History

Luca Soccer Club was founded in 2017 in Malappuram, is one of the fast growing and developing clubs in Kerala. The club started off as a football academy at grassroots level for developing young talents. Luca SC emerged as professional football club in 2019 and the senior team is a solid presence in all major tournaments in Kerala.[1][2][3]

Luca SC also tried to get direct entry to the I-League.[4][5] A Dubai-based company bought 25% shares of the club.[6] Luca SC is planning to use its own stadium at 9 acres (3.6 ha) of land at Manjeri.[7]

Ownership

Luca SC is majorly owned by its founder Navas Luca, 25% of its shares are owned by a Dubai-based company, and the rest by its co-owners Musthafa Kamal and Shaji Madathil.[8]
