M. N. Ghosh
Manindra Nath Ghosh, (1924-2021), was an Indian pharmacologist and the first director of Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research (JIPMER) in Puducherry, India.[1] Ghosh is the author of Fundamentals of Experimental Pharmacology.[2] The book was originally written in 1971, and has been published in seven editions since.
As a result of his work, Ghosh was a recipient of the Dr. B. C. Roy Award in 1980.
Dr. Ghosh's work was cited by James Black (pharmacologist) in his acceptance of the 1988 Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine. [3]
Early life and education
After attending R. G. Kar Medical College and Hospital for his undergraduate studies, Ghosh moved on to do his Ph.D. in Pharmacology at the University College London, graduating in 1956.[4]
