M Ashraful Haq

M Ashraful Haq (born March 1, 1965) is a two star Admiral of Bangladesh Navy and the incumbent Assistant Chief of Naval Staff (Operations). In previous he has also served as Director General[1] of Bangladesh Coast Guard and numerous salient appointments, namely Commander Chattogram Naval Area, Commander Khulna Area, Commander BN Fleet Director of Naval Intelligence & Sergeant-At-Arms of Bangladesh National Parliament.

Military training

He joined Bangladesh Naval Academy on 15 October 1982 and got commissioned in Executive Branch on 15 April 1985. In his long glorious service career, Rear Admiral Asharaful went through various education and training courses both at home and abroad. He have done numerous basic courses from USA and China at the junior rank. He did his specialization Course on Signal Communications from India. He is a graduate from Defence Services Command and Staff College, Dhaka and underwent Armed Forces War Course at National Defence College, Dhaka. He is also a proud graduate and alumni of National Defense College, Delhi, India, from where he has completed his Master's in Philosophy in Defence and Strategic Studies.[2]

Military career

During his long service tenure, he discharged various duties and responsibilities both at national and international domain. In his glorious naval career, M Asharaful haq [3] successfully commanded almost all classes of Naval Ships including Frigate, appointed at important Staff Duties, performed duties at various directorial Posts and served as the Area Commander of both Navy Fleet and Naval Area Command.

Awards

For distinguished service and outstanding performance, M Ashraful Haq was awarded with Chief of Naval Staff's Commendation, Navy Medal (NBP) and Navy Medal of Excellence (NUP). He is also the recipient of Bangladesh Coast Guard Medal (BCGM) for his glorious service in Bangladesh Coast Guard.
