Maud Husberg
Maud Husberg (1934 - 2008) was a Swedish television presenter and announcer. She is most known for her involvement in children's TV programs.
Life
Maud Husberg was born on December 24, 1934 in Gothenburg, Sweden. Her father was the director Gösta Husberg, and her mother Ingrid Prytz was a housewife.[1] After her graduation as a fashion designer from Tillskärarakademin (The Tailors Academy) in 1954, Husberg worked at the Borås Textile Institute in 1955. In 1956, she was employed at the Balmain fashion center in Paris. She returned to Sweden several months later and worked in the advertising department of a Swedish fashion house from 1957 - 1961.[2][3] She then was employed by Sveriges Radio as a TV program announcer. In 1964, she became known as "Tant Mård" in connection with her presentation of children's programs. In 1967, due to her popularity as Tant Mård, she published a spoken album named Tant ‘Mård’ berättar två musiksagor om Chicko och Tjypp,[4] and also published a book titled Ant Mård berättar en saga om Chico (Ant Mård tells a story about Chico).[2][3] Maud Husberg hosted the Melodifestivalen 1967.[5]
Maud Husberg married the economist Reggie Jacobson (1924–1979) in 1967.[2][3] She died on October 12, 2008, in Örgryte, Gothenburg municipality. She is buried at the Östra kyrkogården in Gothenburg with her husband.[6]
