Michael D. Bernacchi

Michael Dennis Bernacchi Jr.[1] (born 1965)[2] is a United States Navy rear admiral currently serving as the Director for Plans and Policy of the United States Space Command since July 10, 2020.[3][4][5][6] He was raised in Pleasant Ridge, Michigan,[3] where his father was a professor of marketing at the nearby University of Detroit.[7] The younger Bernacchi attended Shrine High School[8] and graduated from the University of Detroit in 1988[1] with a B.S. degree in biology. He later earned master's degrees in nuclear engineering and industrial engineering from the University of Michigan.[3]
