Mike Waguespack

Michael "Mike" Waguespack is the current Legislative Auditor for the State of Louisiana.[1] In this capacity, he heads the Louisiana Legislative Auditor's Office, Louisiana's state auditor. Previously, he served as sheriff of Assumption Parish, and is a Certified Public Accountant.[2]

Waguespack was elected on April 19, 2021. He is a 1987 graduate of Louisiana State University with an undergraduate degree in accounting. Prior to being sheriff from 2000 until 2016, he was also chief financial officer for a contractor and a member and vice chairman of the Louisiana Tax Commission.
