Morgan McDermott

Morgan McDermott is an American author best known for his short stories. His short fiction collection, Owner's Manual, won the Ohio State University Prize in Short Fiction. His short fiction has also appeared in many prominent journals and magazines including The Nebraska Review, The Mississippi Review, The Bellingham Review, Dogwood, Phoebe, River City and New Millennium Writings. He has received awards for short fiction from the Illinois Arts Council, the Ruth Hindman Foundation and the Bridport Arts Centre.[1] He won the Dana Award for the short story in 2002.

McDermott is a graduate of the University of Iowa. He lives in suburban Chicago. McDermott now teaches 6th Grade ELA in Daniel Wright Junior High School. Some of his students call him McDemo. He sponsoring the DWJHS Cricket Club.
