Mr Macaroni

Debo Adedayo (born 3 May 1993[1]), known by his stage name Mr Macaroni, is a Nigerian, comic skit maker, actor and activist.[2][3] He is best known for his Instagram comedy videos, where he plays the role of a "sugar daddy". He is famously known for the phrases of "Ooin" and "You are doing well".

Early life

Adedayo was born in Lagos. He hails from Ogun State.[1] He graduated from Redeemer's University Nigeria in 2018 where he studied theater arts and film studies.[1][4]

Career

Adedayo started as an actor[5] in Nollywood before creating comedy videos.[6][7] In his interview with Punch Nigeria, he said that he has been an actor for a long time by doing movies and soap operas.[7] He said movie roles were no longer coming at some point and he took a while before he decided to start online comedy.[7]

Mr Macaroni's comedy talks about events and real issues in Africa.[8] He always play the role of a sugar daddy. In an interview with Nigerian Tribune, he said he chose the role of a sugar daddy because it represents a good percentage of naughty men who can not control themselves.[9]

Mr Macaroni, in an interview with Punch Nigeria, said he had flair for comedy when he would mimic Pastor Chris Oyakhilome and everyone would laugh.[10]

EndSARS

Adedayo has been active in the End SARS movement.[15][16] On Saturday, 13 February 2021, police arrested Debo at Lekki Toll Gate during the on-going #OccupyLekkiTollgate protest.[17][16]
