Mumuni Bawumia

Alhaji Mumuni Bawumia was a Ghanaian politician, a writer and founding member of the Northern People's Party.[1][2] His son Mahamudu Bawumia is the Vice-President of Ghana. Mumuni Bawumia died in September 2002.[1] He served as Chairman of the Council of State from 1992 to 2000.[3]

Career

Mumuni was a teacher, lawyer, a politician and the paramount chief of Kperiga in the then Northern region of Ghana.[4]

Personal life

He was married to Mariama Bawumia. They had five children.[5] Mumuni had 18 children[4]
