Nadezhda Tokayeva

Nadezhda Davydovna Tokayeva (Russian: Надежда Давыдовна Токаева, Kazakh: Надежда Давыдқызы Токаева, romanized: Nadejda Davydqyzy Tokaeva; born 1957, in the Soviet Union) is the former wife of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev,[1] being the current President of Kazakhstan. She is a graduate of the Moscow State Institute for History and Archives. Together with her husband, she has a son, Timur (born 1984).[2][3][4] She assumed the role of first lady in March 2019 when her husband's predecessor, Nursultan Nazarbayev, resigned after 29 years in power.[5]
