Navid Mahmoudi
Navid Mahmoudi (Persian: نوید محمودی, born 24 September 1980) is an Afghan film director, screenwriter, producer and poet.[1][2] He and his family moved to Iran when he was very young and from a very young age he has been interested in films and cinema and developed a passion for the art.[3][4] He is the brother of Jamshid Mahmoudi.[5][6]

Career
He started his professional career as an assistant director and went on to direct his own short films and produce other works. He has been a producer on more than 10 television Movies. Mahmoudi produced his first feature A few Cubic Meters of Love (2012), directed by his brother Jamshid Mahmoudi, which was selected to represent Afghanistan in the Best Foreign Language Film category of the Academy Awards in 2014 and it screened at more than 30 international festivals and won eight awards. In 2016, he co-wrote and directed his first feature film, Parting, and in 2019 produced his brother's second film, Rona, Azim’s Mother, for which he was nominated for an APSA.[7]
