Death of Husband

Neera Arya was married to Shrikant Jairanjan Das, who actively served the British investigative agency CID.[1] Realising Neera Arya had become part of the Rani Jhansi Regiment of the Indian National Army, Shrikant wanted Neera to assassinate Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. When Neera Arya refused, Shrikant Jairanjan Das wanted her to disclose Netaji's whereabouts, to assassinate Netaji himself. During a failed assassination attempt, Shrikant fired a shot towards Netaji. Netaji survived the shooting but his driver was shot down. Upon hearing this, Neera stabbed her husband Shrikant to death.[2][3] Neera Arya died on Sunday 26 July 1998 in Hyderabad.
