Sub Inspector Ngalinuh Bala Kilah Atu (1 January 1940 - 23 June 2020) was a former malaysian police officer.

Early life

Ngalinuh Bala Kilah Atu was born on 1 January 1940 to a Dayak family. He received education until Grade 6.

Police career

Ngalinuh joined the Police Force on 14 January 1961 as Police Constable. On 8 July 1971, he was promoted to Sergeant. On 1 July 1983, he was promoted to Sergeant Major and promoted to Sub Inspector on 1 January 1991. During his service, he was assigned to 18th Battalion of Police Field Force (now General Operations Force) and 15th Battalion of Police Field Force. He was retired on 1 January 1996.

Herofic action

Ngalinuh and his men were escorting explosives along Jalan Ulu Oya, Mubal, Sarawak with four of his men, Ngalinuh and his men were attacked by terrorists. Fighting back, Ngalinuh managed to injure and capture one of his attackers while driving the rest away, Ngalinuh sustained a near fatal knife wound to the chest in hand to hand armed combat, and survived.

Death

On 23 June 2020, Ngalinuh passed away at Hospital Miri due to lung complications and diabetes.[1]
