Niaz, NIAZ, Niyasor Neyaz may refer to:

Name

Pronounced [nɪˈjɒːz]. It was not originally a name, but a word in Old Persian meaning "a strong need, desire, or wish" or "gift, present."

In Zoroastrianism

The use of the name Niyaz was banned in ancient Persia for a Zoroastrian person. The name Niyaz was reserved for the Mahathristra, who it was believed would be born in the 20th century. The Mahathristra is believed to be the reincarnation of Zoroaster. After the conquest of Persia by Muslims the name Niyaz came into common use.

It was believed that the Mahathristra would be born in a place known as The Land of the Coconut, which would presumably be outside Persia, since coconuts cannot grow there.
