Saving Iraqi Culture

Saving Iraqi Culture (or Nasb Enqath Al thaqafa) (Arabic: نصب انقاذ الثقافة) is a monument located in the Mansour district of Baghdad. It was commissioned in 2010 by the Mayor of Baghdad and designed by Iraqi sculptor Mohammed Ghani Hikmat. The monument is a cylindrical column of broken stone representing Iraqi culture, and there is a group of hands and arms surrounding it as an expression of its attempt to support it so as not to fall (that is, so to save culture from falling, and written cuneiform symbols meaning writing began here).[1]
