Novelbright

Novelbright (Japanese: ノーベルブライト) is a five-member Japanese rock band formed in 2013 and mainly active in Osaka. the band currently consists of vocalist Yudai Takenaka, guitarist Kaito Yamada, rhythm guitarist Sôjirô Oki, drummer Negi and bassist Keigo.

History

2013–2017: Formation

In 2013, the group was formed with its original members including Yudai as a copy band of One Ok Rock.[1]

In July 2016, the original members Kimunii and Takuya withdrew and will be suspended for half a year .

In January 2017, Kaito, Sôjirô and Negi joined the group.

In January 27, five people including Yudai and Yutaro will perform their first live

2018–2019: Skywalk and EN. -An Period

In October 2018, Novelbright released their first mini album "Skywalk" to be distributed nationwide.

In December 2018, Bassist Yutaro withdrew from the live held on December 5th

In January 2019, Bassist Keigo joined the group completing the current Novebright

The pattern of the street live tour " Kakeppuchido Chikusho Street Live TOUR-Acoustic CD Release Tour- " that was carried out nationwide in July was spread on Twitter , TikTok, etc., and the songs were ranked at the top of each streaming chart. It became a hot topic. AcoBright1" on July 5.

In September 2019, the group released their 2nd mini album "EN.".

2019–2020: Major label debut Wonderland

The official fan club "NOVEL CITY" will open on March 16, 2020.

Released the first full-length album " Wonderland " distributed nationwide on May 27th.

2020–2021: Opening Declaration

The live concert "Virtual Bright SPECIAL at Osaka-jo Hall-The strongest announcement in the history of the band is free-" was held at Osaka-jo Hall on August 17, and the new song " Sunny drop " delivered on the same day was released in Universal Music.

Announced major debut from Universal Sigma. And on July 11, 2021, it was announced that Novelbright's first arena one-man live will be held at Osaka Castle Hall. September 30 , tele Higashion Rakusai new song "after starring I just was asking you " is TV Tokyo drama " co-star NG has announced that it has been appointed as the theme song of". On October 16th, it was confirmed that 4 of the 5 members except Takenaka were infected with the new coronavirus , and on October 16th, they announced that they would refrain from activities during October. Also, Takenaka was originally negative, it was confirmed to be infected was again PCR test on October 19, .The band's first regular radio program began broadcasting on Nippon Broadcasting System on November 12, when the self-restraint of activities began.

Released the first full-length album " Opening Declaration " after major debut on April 28, 2021.

2021–present: Thirteen studio album

Released the song "Okey dokey!!" on December 2, 2021 in collaboration with Pokémon Unite. The group was briefly renamed "NovelUNITE" specifically for this collaboration.

  • Novelbright become popular on SNS after launching a video on Tiktok in September 2019 of them performing "Walking with you" at an acoustic live on the street in front of Sendai Station which rapidly spread on Twitter and has over 200,000 likes and 48,000 retweets, the song then ranked on streaming sites beyond the app, it was at no.1 for 8 consecutive weeks on the Spotify Japan viral chart and no. 2 on Japan Line Music BGM.[2] Some other songs like "Haikei, shin'ainaru-kun e" from the 2nd mini album "EN.", was also in the top ten in Spotify. The chart had four songs in the top 50 by October.[3]
  • The group have had a major a debut for 2020. They became one of four recipients of the New Artist Award at the 62nd Japan Record Awards.[4]
