Oonche Log (1985 film)

Oonche Log (transl.High Society People) is an Indian Hindi-language film directed by Brij. This film is inspired by the novel Wuthering Heights, 1966 film Dil Diya Dard Liya and the Pakistani film Dehleez (1983), starring Nadeem, Shabnam, Afzal Ahmed and Agha Taalish. The film stars Rajesh Khanna and Salma Agha as the main lead characters. The film's cinematography, costumes, music of R.D.Burman, performance of Rajesh Khanna, Danny Denzongpa and Prem Chopra were critically praised, but Salma Agha's performance was criticised. Brij insisted on using the same tune and lyrics of Aaj Tu Gair Sahi of the Pakistani film Dehleez, sung by Mehndi Hasan, in this film the same song was recorded with Kishore. Kishore Kumar's version with R.D. Burman's orchestration was appreciated.

Aaj Tu Ghair Sahi, was copied from the Urdu song of the same name from the 1983 super-hit Pakistani film Dehleez, starring Shabnam and Nadeem. It was originally sung by Mehdi Hassan and the music was composed by Kemal Ahmed.[1]
