Operation Spartan Shield

Operation Spartan Shield (OSS) is a United States Department of Defense operation in the Middle East and falls under Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF). OSS is commanded by United States Central Command and includes units from all service branches. Task Force Spartan is the U.S. Army component of OSS.

In Syria, on 25 August 2020,[1] a Russian vehicle allegedly rammed a U.S. MRAP (Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicle), which triggered an Operation Spartan Shield countermeasure.[2]
