Oriental Guardian
Oriental Guardian[1] (simplified Chinese: 东方卫报; traditional Chinese: 東方衛報) was a Nanjing-based[2] newspaper[3] published in Chinese, and was owned by the Nanjing Daily Newspaper Group. The newspaper was founded in 1992,[4] originally named Nanjing Public Security Post,[5] and changed to its current name in 2001.

On May 15, 2006, it was revamped to become the first free newspaper of Nanjing Metro.[6] In August 2012, five editors from the Oriental Guardian were suspended for the paper's critical coverage of former Olympic champion Liu Xiang's injury cover-up.[7]
On June 1, 2020, Oriental Guardian ceased publication.[8]
